MEMORIALS: Alzheimers Association, P.O. Box 3344, Abilene, Texas 79604. John David Robinson, age 96, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010, at Western Hills Healthcare residence in Comanche, Texas. He was born August 19, 1914, in Iowa Park, Texas, to Luther and Matilda (Simmons) Robinson. On May 4, 1940, he was united in marriage to Margaret Williams in Cleburne, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2005. John was a World War II veteran and served in the United States Navy and United States Army/Air Corps. For many years he worked for A & P Grocery in Comanche and later owned and operated J. D. R. Texaco Station. He served as a City of Comanche police officer, was a Comanche County Precinct 2 heavy equipment operator, and was Court Bailiff for Comanche County District Court. John was a member of Pearl Street Church of Christ in Comanche and was also a member of Hope Masonic Lodge #481. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Darrell Rasberry of Gordon; son, Kenneth Robinson, Sr. of Comanche; son and daughter-in-law, David and Fay Robinson of Comanche; son and daughter-in-law, Ancil Duwayne and Sandy Robinson of Wilmington, North Carolina; son, Rodney Lynn Robinson of San Angelo; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and sister, Geneva Robinson of Royce City. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
