FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. BURIAL: Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at Pearl Street Church of Christ following the funeral services. Johnnie Ell Chambers , age 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2012, in Comanche County, Texas. She was born on September 18, 1925, in Comanche, to J. L. and Laura Gertrude (Haslett) Johnston. On December 13, 1941, she was united in marriage to Elvis Eugene Chambers in Comanche. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2009. For many years Jonnie owned and operated a beauty shop. She was a member of the Pearl Street Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta Ann and Dean Stephenson of Comanche; sister, Treva Davis of Comanche; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her beloved cats, Puddin and Oodlie. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Chambers, on November 10, 1959.
