Johnny Humphrey

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 30, 2011, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel LUNCH: Family will have lunch at the Gustine Community Center following the memorial service. Johnny Ray Humphrey, age 59, passed away on December 26, 2011, in Uvalde, Texas. He was born on August 18, 1952, in Comanche Texas, to A. L. and Doris (Ripley) Humphrey. He was a member of the Church of Christ. On May 29, 1979, he was united in marriage to Roxanne Johnston and from this union three children, Jon Eric, Jessica, and Jamie, were born. Johnny Ray served three years in the armed forces, and after his military service he made a career in the construction industry. He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Humphrey of Corpus Christi, son, Jon Eric and his wife Rebecca and their two sons, Dax and Gauge of San Antonio; daughter, Jessica Hayes and her husband Carl and three daughters, Lilly, Ashlynn, Maddison of Portland; daughter, Jamie Humphrey and her son Anson of Portland; two brothers, Tommy Gayle Humphrey of Richardson and Rickey Mike Humphrey of Comanche; dear brother-in-law James Denton of Rogers, Arkansas; two step-brothers, Wesley Hurt and Weldon Hurt; step-mother, Kay Humphrey of Comanche; mother-in-law, Dortha Ripley of Gustine; and many nieces, nephews and beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, A. L. and Doris Humphrey and his only sister, Shirley Elaine Denton.
