Jose Antonio “Chito” Talamantez Faz, beloved father and grandfather, died at peace on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at his home in Jimenez, Coahuila, Mexico. He was born on February 10, 1948 in Jimenez to Rodolfo Talamantez and Guadalupe Faz de Talamantez. In 1963 he married the love of his life, Rosa Maria Constancio, and together they had six headstrong, stubborn children. She preceded him in death on July 29, 1981. Chito resided in Comanche for forty years before retiring from Prater Construction, where he was employed as a commercial heavy equipment operator, and making his residence in Mexico. He enjoyed tending to his ranch animals, riding his horse, and participating in Cabalgata de Caballos (horse trail rides). He had a passion for music, dancing, singing, and being with his family and passed that love to his children and grandchildren. Chito was best known to his family and friends as a comedian, gardener, and a cowboy. Family members left to cherish his memory include his daughters: Maribel Villalpando and husband Raymundo, Sandra Holland and husband Bradley, Rosa Byrd and husband Chad, Edna Vara and husband Ramiro, Ismelda Garza and husband Andrew, Christina Talamantez, and Kimberly Talamantez, son, Mario Talamantez; Jose is also survived by siblings Israel Talamantez, Elvira Marin, Rosantina Elizondo, Elsira Reyes, and Eva Rodriguez; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and many friends. Preceding him in death were his parents Rodolfo Talamantez and Guadalupe Faz de Talamantez; and brothers Rodolfo Talamantez Jr, Mateo Talamantez, and Carlos Talamantez.
