Josephine Rogers

April 13, 1956 — June 12, 2022

Josephine H Rogers, born April 13, 1956, in Muleshoe Texas. At a very young age, she moved with her parents, her brother and sister to Gustine Texas. She lived there all her life, made many friends and was so proud to be from Gustine. Josephine at a young age worked very hard as a wool picker for her father’s sheep shearing business and hauled hay. Some might say that she worked harder than a lot of the boys her age. Josephine always had a smile on her face and would give the shirt off her back to help anyone. She also worked at Comanche Pottery, Miguel’s Restaurant, and her last job was housekeeping supervisor at Hamilton Hospital. She loved Dr Pepper, BBQ from Underwoods and Mac’s, cheesy chicken enchiladas, sweet tea and chicken from Chicken Express and she loved yellow meat watermelons.

Josephine was never married, nor did she have children, but she had a very special doggie named Punkin, that she treated as her little baby and never went anywhere without her. She was blessed with three nieces and a nephew, a God son and a God daughter. She had a very special bond with her eldest niece Connie Sue and her family, anyone that didn’t know she was her niece would have thought that she and her family were her children. She had a Godson Omar, that she adored along with his wife Dulce and daughters, Maritza, Noemy, Amira. She had several best friends that she loved like siblings, Balinda, Laurie, Francisco, Janie and several other great friends. Josephine will be truly missed by all that knew her.

Josephine is survived by her niece Connie and husband Amalio and their children Roman (little drummer boy), Amaris (pinkie), Alyana (Ratita) and Madi. She’s also survived by one nephew and his family and two nieces, her sister-in-law Sophie Rogers and a sister. Josephine is proceeded in death by her parents GT and Trinidad Herrera Rogers, brothers Antonio Rogers Sr, Francisco Rogers, great nephew Santos Rey Garcia and many family and friends. Until we meet again, “I love you Mickey Mouse.. I love you too crocodile.”
