Joyce Hodges, age 83, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014, in Brownwood, Texas. She was born on October 8, 1930, in Comanche County, Texas, to James Lesley and Audrey Mae (Rice) Franklin. In 1951, she was married L. T. Lewis in De Leon, Texas. He preceded her in death. She married Wayland Hodges on March 31, 1998. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2009. For 17 years she was a seamstress for Sidern Sewing Factory in Comanche, and then worked at Rising Star Nursing Center as a Nurses Aide until she retired after eleven years. Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church of De Leon. She is survived by one son, Roger Wayne Lewis of De Leon; one daughter, Jennifer Lea Strickland of Sidney; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Lewis, Jennifer Lewis, and Kimberley Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Lewis and Sadie Siebenhaar; one brother, J. L. Franklin of Odessa; two sisters, Rosalie McDaniel and husband Marion of Hillsboro, and Margie Chupp of De Leon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. L. and Audrey Franklin and one brother, Thomas Franklin.
