Joyce Powell Wells, age 70, went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 4, 2014, in Comanche, Texas. She was born on April 18, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas to Thomas Jackson and Mabel Loy (Gober) Powell. On June 2, 1962, she was united in marriage to Almond Leon Wells in Mercury, Texas. Joyce was the office manager for Comanche Central Appraisal District. She worked there for twenty-seven years. Prior to this she worked for the Comanche County Treasurer and Comanche County Tax office. She is survived by her husband, Almond Leon Wells; one son, Joey Wells and wife Lisa Parrish of Coppell; one daughter, Jennifer Guelzow and husband Jim of Victor, New York; six grandchildren, Nicole Hart and husband Scott of Comanche, Chris Guelzow of Palm Bay, Florida, Justin Wells of Coppell, Jamison Guelzow of Victor, New York, Chad Griffin of Satellite Beach, Florida, and Austin Griffin of Abilene; five great-grandchildren, Trenton Best of Comanche and Emma Hart of Albany; Kenzli Griffin of Abilene, Berkeley Griffin and Ferris Griffin of Satellite Beach, Florida; her mother, Mabel Powell of Comanche; one sister, Darlene McDaniel of Ballinger; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Jackson Powell and brother, Dwaine Gober Powell.
