Kelli Rachel Parker, age 14, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011, in Comanche County, Texas. She was born on November 25, 1996, to Danny Parker and Julie (Smith) Petty. Kelli was a cheerleader for Sidney Public Schools and played basketball for Sidney Lady Eagles and also played basketball for Comanche through CYC. She was the 2010 reigning Homecoming Queen for Sidney Schools. She loved “American Idol” and found comfort in watching cooking shows. She also loved Sponge Bob. She had a favorite dog, Daisy, which would not leave her side. Kelli was a strong believer in Jesus and loved him with the simple faith of taking him at his word. Kelli is survived by her father, Danny Parker of Garland; mother and step-father, Julie and Kevin Petty of Comanche; sisters, Laurie and Angela of Comanche; step-sister, Pamela Jones of Corpus Christi; step-brother, Philip Petty of Biloxi, Mississippi; grandmother, Nena Luttrull and step-grandfather, Bob Luttrull of Garland; Grandfather, Gary Smith of Comanche; grandfather, Eli Petty of Collinsville, Oklahoma; grandmother, Margaret Petty of Collinsville, Oklahoma; and numerous aunts and uncles. Kelli’s uncle Baron Smith of Garland shared a birthday with her. She spent every birthday with him. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lois Parker and grandfather, Wayne Parker.
