Kenneth Dwayne Cogburn, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, in Comanche County, Texas. He was born on December 28, 1938, in Gorman, Texas, to Otho Valentine and Maurice (Echols) Cogburn. On May 12, 1967, he was united in marriage to Martha Ware in Lubbock, Texas. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. For seventeen years Kenneth was a truck mechanic for McWhorter’s Truck Center in Lubbock. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Martha Cogburn of Comanche; daughter, Linda Renee Gaines and husband Royce of Mineral Wells; sons, Kenny Thomas Cogburn and wife Susie of Comanche and Kevin Dwayne Cogburn and wife Marsha of Brownwood; twelve grandchildren: Christopher Gaines, Aarron Hagan, Tiffany Huffman, Troy Cogburn, Clint Vera, Ashley Young, Kendall Cogburn, Joe Sowards, Kelton Cogburn, Bradley Sowards, Kaleb Garner, and Kylie Garner; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Terry Cogburn; sisters, Shirley Davis of Lake Brownwood, Sue Sims of Brazos, and Debra Cogburn of Cresson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Maurice Cogburn; eight brothers, and one sister.
