FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 7, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. BURIAL: Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County. VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. LUNCH: 12:00 Noon on Thursday at First Baptist Church. Kenneth Lee Fields, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in Comanche, Texas. He was born on July 26, 1923, in Comanche County, Texas, to Benjamin Bert Fields and Jessie Ruth (Vineyard) Fields. Kenneth was a graduate of Comanche High School, Howard Payne University and West Texas State University. He worked in Texas Public Schools for thirty years, primarily as school administrator. He was past-president of the Texas Elementary principals and Supervisors Association; was a member of the Texas and Comanche County Retired Teachers Associations, a life-member of the Texas State Teachers Association, and life member of both the National and Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers. He was a World War II Veteran and served in the Army Air Corps in the European Theatre of War. After retiring from Texas Public Schools, Kenneth was employed several years as a manager of the Pro Shop at PAR Country Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife, Frances of Comanche; one grandson, Johnathan Clark and wife Shandell of Seattle, Washington; one granddaughter, Riki Clark of Arlington; and one great-granddaughter, Adin Grace Clark of Seattle; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Clark; his parents, Benjamin and Ruth Fields; three sisters, Oleta Rogers, Jewel Scott and Ruby Perry; and four brothers, Nolan Fields, Ottis Fields, Melvin Fields, and Frank Fields.
