MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:30 P.M. Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Rocky Top Ranch. Kenneth Wede Schuetz, age 73, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014, in Abilene, Texas. He was born on August 1, 1941, in Blanco, Texas, to Kermit and Edna (Hudspeth) Schuetz. He served in the United States Navy for four years and was on high alert during the Cuban Crisis. On May 30, 1966, he was united in marriage to Janice Gelvern in Orange, Texas. Kenneth was a wonderful, faithful husband an exceptional father and a loving “Opa”. For twenty years he was employed as a carpenter for John Meyers Construction Co. in Canyon Lake, and for fifteen years he was a trapper for the United States Department of Agriculture in Kendall and Blanco Counties. He was a Lutheran. He is survived by his wife, Janice Schuetz of Gustine; son, Kenneth William Schuetz, Sr., and wife Stormy of Gustine; grandsons: Kenneth William Schuetz, Jr. and Samuel Kermit Schuetz both of Gustine; nephews and niece: Jonathan Schuetz, Willie Schuetz, and Teresa Schuetz, all of Blanco; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Edna Schuetz and brother, William Eldridge Schuetz.
