Lanell (Luckie) Hilliard, age 76, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018, in Comanche, Texas. She was born on June 29, 1941, in Gorman, Texas, to Elmer Lee and Myrl (McCarty) Luckie.  She was united in marriage to Alvie Gerald Hilliard.  He preceded her in death on January 11, 2017.  Lanell was devoted to her family.  She was hardworking, kind, and feisty with a great sense of humor, and was a “Mema” to everyone.  She was an elementary school teacher.  Lanell was a dedicated member of Pearl Street Church of Christ in Comanche.  Her church family was an important part of who she was.  She was also a member of Retired Teachers’ Association. She is survived by her daughter, Karen White and husband Dale of Stephenville; grandchildren: Kolby Stewart and wife Katie of Granbury, Kristen McNickle and husband Mike of Stephenville, Riley Hilliard and wife Chelsea of Comanche, and Shelby Hilliard of North Carolina; (13) great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Rachel Hilliard of Comanche; brother, Mike Luckie and wife Carolyn of Blanket; and numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Myrl Luckie; and son, Ronnie Hilliard.
