Larry Blackwood

Larry Newell Blackwood, age 73 of Stephenville, entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, where he was greeted by his parents, grandparents, God-parents and other family members.

Larry was born October 7, 1950 in his Daddy's hospital in Comanche to the late Dr. Bill and Dorothy Blackwood. He was welcomed home by his sister, Sandy. A 1968 graduate of Comanche High School, Larry pursued his education attending Tarleton State, UT Austin where he received his Bachelor's Degree, and Southwest Texas in San Marcos where he received his Master's Degree. In his younger years Larry enjoyed putting together the model cars and loved Dr. Pepper all his life.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and God-parents. He is survived by his sister, Sandy, of Comanche; niece Amber Bell (Seth) of Stephenville, nephew Scott Clendenin (Jessica) of Houston, and two great-nieces, Abbey and Finley of Stephenville, and several cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024at 11:00 o'clock A.M. at First Methodist Church of Comanche. Burial was at Garden of Memory on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
