Larry Hamilton, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on Monday August 7th 2023, in Comanche, Texas.
He was born on December 20th, 1944 in Brownwood, Texas to Dorsey Hamilton and Lois (Locke) Hamilton.
On October 28, 1976, he married Penny (Campbell) Conine.
Larry was a Class of 1963 graduate of Lampasas High School, where he was an honorable Eagle Scout. He also enjoyed riding bareback broncs in his younger days. When he was the age of 18, he had bought his first airplane, which eventually led for him to become a flight instructor. Larry was also in the National Guard where he served as a 2nd Lieutenant. After serving in the army, he pursued his flight career by being a corporate pilot for Steve and Wilma Fleming. Larry also was a successful businessman, where in 1976 he began H&H Custom trailers, which were sold in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. He later opened H & H Sporting Goods as well. For the past 20 years he worked for State Farm Insurance as a claims adjuster.
Larry was a man of many talents although some, especially his family, would question his electrical skills. One of his greatest talents was his passion to restore WWII army jeeps.
He was also very involved with the community and served as a director for the Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Comanche Roping Club.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Penny. One daughter, Andi Hamilton of Comanche, sons Johnny Conine & wife Angie, Jason Conine and wife Shayla. 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Weston, Jeron, Maeson, Brylee, Jayla, and Conner, and his most beloved dog, Cowgirl. He was preceded in death by his parents Lois and DC Hamilton, one sister, Wynette Turnbull, and brother D.C Jr.
