VISITATION: None scheduled. Larry Joe Smith, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in Temple, Texas. He was born on March 13, 1947, in Comanche, Texas to Benjamin Franklin Smith and Dorothy (Dodd) Smith. He was the grandson of the late Reverend L.C. and Glayds Dodd of Comanche, Texas. Larry was a veteran of the United States Navy. On December 5, 1970, he was united in marriage to Sheryl Loydine Hester in Comanche. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Larry was a faithful Christian and was an ordained minister. He was a self employed finish carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Loydine Smith of Comanche; daughter, Rachel Sheri Dudley of Comanche; son, Larry Joe Smith II and wife Stephanie of Comanche; daughter, Andrea Loydine Smith of Dublin; five grandchildren: Shelby Lynn Smith, Ellen Dawn Smith, Joshua Daniel Smith, Zoé-Anastasia Sheri Dudley, and Trystian Nathanial Dudley; sister, Mary Perkins and husband Johnny of De Leon and sister, Diane Mannix and husband Rem of Montana. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Joe Smith.
