Lee Hilley, age 72, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, in Comanche County, Texas.
He was born on September 23, 1948, in Monahans, Texas, to Oscar Elmo and Sedalia Cuba (Jones) Hilley. On December 17, 1983, he was united in marriage to Jeannie Davidson in Comanche. Lee was a devoted husband, father, stepfather and grandfather. He was an honest, hardworking truck driver, and a loyal and trustworthy partner and friend. In his “leisure” time he enjoyed watching western movies – especially starring John Wayne – and working in the yard. Lee was a Jehovah Witness.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Hilley of De Leon; son, Joel Hilley and wife Lulu of Plano; daughter, Amber Layland and husband Chris of Choctaw, Oklahoma; step-sons, Justin Fronterhouse and wife Jean of Shreveport, Louisiana and Michael Fonterhouse and wife Misty of Stephenville; nine grandchildren – Allan, Zekyla, Sadey, Ivan, Aiden, Azaliah, Madison, Sarah and Morgan; brother, Darrell Hilley and wife Phyllis of Santa Fe, New Mexico; sisters, Warrene Paddock and husband Jim of Nevada, Texas and Glenda Sargee and husband Richard of Natchitoches, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, O. E. and Sedalia Hilley.
