Linnie Faye Gray, age 91, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012, in Killeen, Texas. She was born on July 16, 1921 in McCullough County, Texas to George Washington Jones and Roxie Alice Jones. Faye was united in marriage with Don Juan Gray on April 17, 1947 in Stephenville, Texas. Don preceded her in death. Faye was a rancher in Newburg for 50 years and a homemaker. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Comanche. Faye was active in school in the 1950’s and 1960’s. She served as President of the PTA, Newburg Home Demonstration Club and Comanche County Home Demonstration Club. She represented Comanche County to promote marketing of wool. Faye was a Judge for County 4-H for several years. During World War II she worked in a Defense Plant in Missouri. Faye was a Worthy Matron for Eastern Star. She taught Sunday School at Newburg. She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Gray of Killeen, Texas; son Paul Gray and wife Joyce of Eastland, Texas; grandson Wayne Gray Burkett and wife Christina of Brownwood, Texas, grandson Jayson Geoffrey Brown of Killeen, Texas, granddaughter Rachel Johnson and husband Ian of Leavenworth, Kansas, grandson Steve Gray of Eastland, Texas, granddaughter-in-law Brandi Burkett of Killeen, Texas; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Juan Gray, grandson Wesley Burkett and 7 brothers. Graveside Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Steven Schulte officiating. Comanche Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Comanche Public Library, 311 N.
