Woods, Jr., in Munday, Texas.  He preceded her in death on March 6, 2014.  LaVerne was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was kind and loving and beloved not only by her family, but by everyone who knew her.  She loved doing the Lord’s work; she was a friend and “rock” to everyone; she was an artist, an avid reader, and she loved poetry.   LaVerne was a faithful member of New Life Pentecostal Church, and the way she lived her life with her devotion to God and service to others was a wonderful example for all. She is survived by her sons, Dan Woods and wife Harriet of Comanche, Kenneth Woods and wife Brenda of Kentucky, and Steve Woods and wife Cheryle of Comanche; daughter, Lavon (Woods) Gore and husband Ty of Mineral Wells; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Byron Gene Tate and wife Donna of Redlands, California, and John Michael Tate and wife Wendy of Cisco; sister, Donna Lee Jones of Rising Star; and numerous nieces and nephews.
