Mattie Bradford

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Sardis Cemetery in Comanche County. Mattie Mae Bradford, age 81, died on Thursday, February 24, 2011 in Dublin, Texas. She was born on October 18, 1929, in Coleman County, Texas, to Walter Virgil and Virgie Lena (Harris) Adams. On July 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to Marvin L. “Red” Bradford in Crane, Texas. Mattie and Marvin traveled to many interesting places and lived in Egypt and Dubai for nine years. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2011. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mattie was a member of Hasse Baptist Church. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Elena Bradford of McCamey; daughter and son-in-law, Jeania and Willie Brinkman of Hasse; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Larry Bates of Norman, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren that were raised and loved as children, Shawn and wife DeAnn Bradford of Dublin; James Weldon Bradford of Abilene and Misty and husband Toby Bowers of Brownwood; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and J. O. Bradford of Proctor; sister-in-law, Evelyn Adams of Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Virgie Adams, and brother, Virgil Harold Adams.
