She graduated from Comanche High School in 1947 and attended Business College in Abilene, Texas. Upon completion, she returned to Comanche and was employed at the Comanche National Bank. Maxene later became Branch Manager for Olney Savings, and she continued her work in banking until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Comanche. She is survived by her mother Edith Pyburn of Comanche; brother Jerry Pyburn of Comanche ; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Jeff Moseley of Houston; daughter and son-in-law Betty and Maurice Yarter of Kenedy,Texas; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Shirley Barret of Weatherford, Texas; Step-son and daughter-in-law Ray and Vickie Mazurek of Comanche. Maxene had many grandchildren which include Andrew Johnson, Phillip Johnson and wife Rachel, Mandy Johnson, David Barret, Julia Barret, John Barret and wife Ashley, Mark Barret, Joi Moseley, Jenni Moseley and step-grandchildren Shanna Williamson & Shane Mazurek. Maxene had one great-grandson Joshua Johnson.
