FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. BURIAL: Board Church Cemetery in Comanche County. VISITATION: 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. LUNCH: Family will have lunch at Board Baptist Church following the funeral services. Patricia Ilene Nelson, age 96, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015, in Comanche, Texas. She was born on January 23, 1919, in Comanche County, Texas to Jasper A. and Sara Iva (Berna) Pettijohn. She was united in marriage to A.J. “Acie” Nelson. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1995. For many years she worked for Choice Baking Company and the sewing factory in Comanche; She was a loving wife and mother and devout Christian. Patricia was a member of Board Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Doyce Nelson and wife Lillie of Zephyr; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild sister, Dorothy Sharp of Dublin; brothers, A.J. Pettijohn and wife Marie of Gustine, Henry Pettijohn of Joshua, and Dennie Pettijohn and wife Marilyn of Hico; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Oleta Carolyn Nelson; one son, Sherman Nelson; four sisters, Vivian Hays, Faye Robertson, Wanda Edwards, and Shirley Kirkland and one brother, Sam Pettijohn.
