Paula Carriger

July 29, 1953 — February 16, 2025

Family was always important to Paula. She looked forward to family reunions every year until her health began to limit her mobility and ability to travel. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren school and sporting events. She especially loved hugging and loving on the great grandbabies.

She was an old school pen-pal. She kept in touch with most family and friends with handwritten notes and always sent out birthday and holiday cards. Family was always on her mind, even if she might have missed it by a day or week! She loved sharing old stories about ALL her family and friends. She might have repeated a few, but I don't think anyone minded listening. She always kept it entertaining with her facial expressions, perfect pauses for dramatics, and cute giggles she gave herself sometimes. She was a great listener too. Paula always wanted to know what was going on in your life and everyone you knew! Some might say she was a gossip, but I think she just wanted to stay as involved as possible.

Paula made the difficult decision to leave her home in Tulsa, OK after living in Oklahoma all her life. She wanted to watch her grandkids grow up and be closer in their lives in Texas. She enjoyed her decision and took to living country life quickly.

She loved cooking and trying new recipes for her family. She was a wonderful cook and cooked enough for a small army every week that her family, and extended family, always looked forward to and enjoyed.

Her favorite hobby was sharing her creative side. She loved trying new crochet patterns, knitting decorative towels, putting together beautiful flower arrangements, and many more creative talents. She sold these items but loved donating to hospital newborn units and to nursing homes. Every holiday gathering, birthday, baby shower, and family reunion involved the cutest creations to be given happily to all.

She is survived by her sons, John Paul Carriger of Tulsa, OK and Brad Carriger and wife, Lacy, of Sidney, TX; grandchildren, Austin Kelly, Triston and Sierra and great-grandchild, Jude Kelly, Skylar Carriger and great-grandchildren, Moteley and Casey, Madison and Vinson and great-grandbaby, Addison, Hailey Carriger (mini me), Riley Carriger, Gaven Kelly; many extended family members and cousins she saw as siblings.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, and many extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Comanche Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered online at www.comanchefh.com.
