GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County. VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at First Baptist Church at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday. MEMORIALS: If desired, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 407 N. Houston Street, Comanche, Texas 76442; American Cancer Society, 804 West Wrights Avenue, Comanche, Texas 76442; or Comanche Public Library, 311 N. Austin, Comanche, Texas 76442. Peggy Jean Gore, age 84, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015, at her home in Comanche, Texas. She was born on December 22, 1930, in Comanche, to James Brady and Willie Eugenia (Jenkins) Cotney. On June 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Joe T. Gore in Comanche County. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2014. Peggy’s life centered around her husband and family and she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and she loved flowers, especially inside her home. Peggy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Comanche. She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Harvick and husband Kenneth of Comanche, and Nena Carroll, also of Comanche; five grandchildren: Cindy Williams and husband Willie of Tyler, Kerry Kersh and husband David of Comanche, Stacy Dudley and husband Neil of Comanche, Bryan Carroll and wife Melody of Midland, and Aaron Carroll and wife Amy of Comanche; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Doris McMinn and husband Thomas of Comanche; three sisters-in-law: Myra Nell Gore of Comanche, Sue Arthur and husband Bobby of Comanche, and Bettie Beene and husband David of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by infant son, Joe Wayne Gore; parents, Brady and Willie Cotney; and one sister, Dorothy Elliott.
