Box 130 Comanche, Texas 76442; or American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, Texas 75284. Ralph Daniel Woods, Jr., age 85, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014, in Temple, Texas. He was born on April 8, 1928, in Zephyr, Texas, to R.D. and Mildred Beckham) Woods. On April 21, 1950, he was united in marriage to Laverne Morris in Munday, Texas. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the United States Army. Ralph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked for the Texas Highway Department until he retired, and he was a faithful member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Comanche. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, LaVerne Woods of Comanche; three sons, Dan Woods and wife Harriet of Comanche, Kenneth Woods and wife Brenda of Kentucky, and Steve Woods and wife Cherle of Comanche; one daughter, Lavon Woods of Granbury; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Ross of Stephenville. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Bren Woods.
