Rebecca Markel

We are devastated to announce the loss of Rebecca Lynn Markel, 74, of Comanche, Texas. She gave up her fight against polycystic kidney disease and has gone home.

Rebecca was the Rock in the family and the glue that held the family together. She began her life on February 20, 1949, in the Panhandle of Oklahoma. Born to Virginia and Kenneth Rose, she grew up with her two brothers and sister, Jay, Kenneth, and Jeanne. She went on to college at the Panhandle of Oklahoma where she met her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Markel. Together they lived in seven different states and the Panama Canal. They fought through life together and managed to raise two kids, Launa and Scott.

Rebecca had a huge heart, and everybody loved her. She was a happy Soul and was the one everyone turned to when they needed advice. She didn’t ask for much in life and would always put others first. She was a laid back, absolutely wonderful person who will be dearly missed. The world will not be the same without her.
