Ricky Wright, age 53, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in Comanche, Texas. He was born on September 22, 1958 in Stephenville, Texas to Jerry and Anita (Forwoodson) Wright. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He was a member of the Church of Christ. In l981 Ricky graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville with a bachelor of science degree in education and business and returned to earn a master of science in information systems in 2001. He worked for many years in business marketing and sales and served as president of Wright Belts, Inc. in Comanche, a family business started by his father. He expanded Wright’s Belts into an international corporation. For nine years he worked at Big Country Saddlery in Del Rio in various positions in the company, including general manager, vice president and president. In 2005 he joined the staff of Congressman Mike Conaway as district director. Ricky represented Congressman Conaway at district events, handled media requests, attended to constituent issues and supervised five offices and staff within the 36 county 11th Congressional District. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Israel Medina of Houston; son, Jeremy Wright of Midland; three grandchildren, Ryland Medina, Emory Medina, and Carley Medina; mother, Anita Wright of Comanche; brother, Ronny Wright and wife Dee Dee Goldthwaite; sister, Rhonda Roberts and husband Marty of Comanche; and numerous nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wright.
