Robert Charles McMurrin Jr. “Bobby” age fifty of Comanche, Texas passed from this life to his Heavenly Home on Monday August 9, 2021 in Comanche. Funeral Services will be held at 411 W. Grand Street at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel on Monday August 23rd at 1:00 P.M. with Brother Van Christian, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Comanche officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. Visitation will be held on Sunday August 22nd at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Bobby was born in Odessa, Texas to Robert “Bob” and Twana McMurrain on February 26, 1971. After moving to Kermit, TX in 1971 from Odessa, Bobby accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1976 and he and his parents were members of Belvue Baptist Church. He attended school in Kermit, Texas thru his 9th grade year. He was in Student Council and in spite of Asthma and Allergies, he played football, baseball and ran track and received an award for pole vaulting in Jr. High. He rededicated his life to Christ as a teenager in Kermit TX. He was active in the youth group at Belvue Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Kermit. After moving back to Odessa TX in 1986, He and his family were members of the First Baptist Church of Odessa. He was a graduate of Odessa High School in 1989, the same High School that both parents graduated from in 1971. He played football his freshman year and then was on the swim team his junior and senior year, where he excelled and won awards in freestyle swimming and was Team Captain. He was a lifeguard at Ector County Pools and a children swimming Instructor at Odessa College.

After graduating he worked in the Oil Field Service Industry in Odessa and Houston. He did various contractor jobs in Houston, New Braunfels, San Antonio, and Austin until 2005 when he had a serious industrial accident in Austin which handicapped him. He was a devoted, loving Dad, Son, Brother, and friend. He loved fishing with his family and water sports and tubing in New Braunfels on the Comal River with family and friends. He was in the process of helping his parents restore their place when he passed away. He will be missed.

Bobby is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Carl and Mabel Davis of Odessa TX and Paternal Grandmother, Loweta Joy McMurrain of Abilene. He is survived by his daughter, Jacinda Marie McMurrain of Cedar Springs, MI, who was Daddy Bobby’s “The Beautiful” and is Aunt Misty’s “Splenda”, and G-Ma and G-Pa’s “Beautiful Morning Glory”, Parents, Bob and Twana McMurrain and Paternal Grandfather, WL “Mack” McMurrain, sister Misty Ann McMurrain, “Bees”, and many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and Friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church at 407 N. Houston St., Comanche, Tx 76442 in memory of Robert C. McMurrain Jr “Bobby”.
