Rodger Jones

Rodger Gayle Jones, 78, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024, in Brownwood, Texas. Rodger was born in Gorman, Texas on November 6, 1945, to Horace Alan Jones and Alice Mae Matthews.

Rodger was a man of many talents as he was a farmer, rancher, entrepreneur, and more. He was always looking out for others when they needed help the most. He was a good father to all his children. He was a member of the Sidney Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, deep sea fishing, farming, ranching, and most of all tractors where he had big visions of one day returning to the glory days of farming peanuts.

He is survived by his son, Gayle & wife Belinda Jones of Sidney; daughter, Holli Read & Jay Wilson of Sidney; grandchildren, Byron Matthews, Landon Clary, Kassandra Bradshaw, Lacey Clary, & Allissa Read; great grandchildren, Daymoin Salinas, Roman Clary, Izabella Matthews, Syrena Clary, Vol Clary, Emrik Shepperd, Scarlett Shepperd & Allie Read.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Alan Jones & Alice Mae Matthews; brother, Alan Jones; sister, Patsy Newhouse; & Bobby Salyer.
