Box 22, Comanche, Texas 76442 Roger Dean Murphree, age 81, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, in Brownwood, Texas. He was born on October 23, 1932, in Comanche County, Texas, to William Code and Ethel Elmina (Parsons) Murphree. Roger was a United States Army veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. On March 10, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jan Rogers in the Parlor of the First Baptist Church of Comanche. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Comanche. Roger was a cattleman and rancher and was a member of the American Hereford Association. He is survived by his wife, Jan (Rogers) Murphree of Comanche; son, William Randall “Randy” Murphree and wife Delores of Hamilton; grandsons, Jake Murphree and wife Brandi of Hamilton, and John Murphree and wife Melissa of Hamilton; great-grandsons, Zeb Murphree and Ty Murphree; brothers, Ray Murphree of Comanche and Billy Murphree and wife Patsy of Monahans; sisters, Lois Brooks of Abilene and Bobbie Curtis of Lubbock; brother-in-law, Don Rogers; sisters-in-law, Linda Feist and Betty Whitley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Code and Ethel Murphree; brothers, Curtis Murphree and Pat Murphree; sisters-in-law, Jean Murphree and Jackie Murphree; brothers-in-law, John Curtis and R.C. Brooks; and parents-in-law, and Hollis and Gladys Rogers.
