MEMORIALS: Charity of Choice Roy Dante Mims, Jr., age 73, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Comanche County Medical Center in Comanche County, Texas. He was born on January 11, 1939, in Langdale, Alabama, to Roy Dante Mims, Sr., and Sarah Lilah “Gloria” (Chaffin) Mims. On August 31, 1963, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Queisner in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Mims was a Fellow of the American College Of Osteopathic Physicians And Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association, and Texas Osteopathic Association. He served on the Comanche City Council, and was a founding member of The Tin House Shooting Club in Comanche. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Comanche and Hope Masonic Lodge #481 in Comanche. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Mims of Comanche; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Lisa Mims of Comanche; daughter, Sara Mims of Fort Worth; four grandchildren: Jeffrey Laffoon and wife Sabrina, Lauren Laffoon, Kyle Laffoon, and Nickolas McGinn and wife Mary; four great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Hicks of Eastland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gloria Mims.
