Sandra K. Kurtin born August 4, 1952 passed away peacefully at her home in Comanche, TX on April 18th. She was born in Charleston, WVa to Sam and Drexel Keller and spent her early childhood playing with cousins and enjoying family gatherings on Campbells Creek. Moving to Houston in her teens, she graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1970 and then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Houston in 1974. She met Joe, her husband, thru a mutual acquaintance (a stray cat they eventually adopted and named Friendly) who graciously assisted with their chance meeting leading to a love story lasting over 44 years. They were married May 19, 1979 and lived in Houston until moving to Comanche in 2000. They enjoyed flying their own small plane and traveling on shorts trips meeting friends and family along the way. She was a tax accountant with her own firm providing tax and accounting services for over 5 decades to her clients, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Sam Keller, mother, Drexel Keller, brother, Sammy and bonus mother, Nancy Keller.
She leaves behind her husband, Joe Kurtin of Comanche, TX sister, Karen Collins and husband Gavin of Hallsville, TX nephew, Steven Collins of Sherman, TX and numerous friends and family that will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 20th from 4-6pm at Comanche Funeral Home. Graveside services at Oakwood Cemetery will be held Monday, April 22nd at 11am.
