Sandra Lane

November 5, 1946 — October 9, 2024

Sandra "Sandy" Prather Lane, of Comanche, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Stephenville, Texas, in 1946 to Floyd and Frances Prather, Sandy graduated from Comanche High School in 1965 and Baylor University in 1969. She was a proud alumna of both schools, and a lifelong supporter of Chi Omega Sorority. Professionally, she had a long career in education, dedicating many years as an elementary school teacher and librarian. She also co-founded a crafting business called “You Name It.”

Sandy was a devoted mother to her daughter and son. Her sweet, kind demeanor endeared her to both old and new friends, family and students. She was a gracious hostess and knew how to make her guests feel welcome. She had a flair for decorating and was an avid collector of “pretty things.”
She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Bobby Lane; her children Jennifer (Gary) Cohen and Mark Swanson; granddaughter Erin Cohen; brother Buddy (Judy) Prather; and other loving family members and friends.

In remembrance of Sandy’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Comanche County Historical Museum.
