Shirley Garrett, age 74, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021, in Sidney, Texas.
She was born on June 4, 1947, in Hearne, Texas, to David Favors and Pearl Elizabeth (Thompson). On October 5, 1966, she was united in marriage to Thomas C. Garrett. After 47 years, he preceded her in death on April 1, 2013. Shirley was an amazing lady who put everyone else ahead of herself. She was caring and had unconditional love for others. For many years, she worked as a correctional officer at TDCJ.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Garrett of Sidney; two granddaughters, Sarah Garrett and Rachel Garrett; two grandsons, Chase Garrett and Tucker Garrett of Decatur; two sisters, Glenda McManamy and husband, Gary, and Loretta Rhoades and husband, Eddie; and three brothers, David Favors, Jr. and wife, Elaine, Floyd Favors and wife, Carol, and Sherman Favors and wife, Carolyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Garrett; son, Thomas C. Garrett III and brother, Gary Owen Favors.
