LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at Gustine Church of Christ at 12:00 Noon on Thursday. Ted Mankin, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, in Abilene, Texas. He was born on September 24, 1930, in Newburg, Texas, to Ollie A. and Delma V. (Farrar) Mankin. Ted was a United States Air Force veteran. On October 14, 1950, he was united in marriage to Hallie Dee Kinser in Ozona, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2004. For many years he was a mechanic and, later, a self-employed contractor. Ted was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by two sons, Mike Mankin and wife Tracy of Comanche, and Bill Mankin wife Delyn of Comanche; two daughters, Kay Hammond of Comanche and Connie Massingill and husband Blaine of Comanche; eleven grandchildren: Melinda Baugh and husband Brant of Brownwood, DeLaura McRae of Brownwood, Courtney Banks and husband James of Stephenville, Keisha Massingill of Comanche, Paige Massingill of San Angelo, Brandun Massingill and wife Malania of Comanche, Shannon Mankin of Comanche, Bryce Hutchins of Comanche, Hayden Mankin of Comanche, Wyatt Mankin of Comanche, and Cash Mankin of Comanche; and five great-grandchildren, Samson Smith, Hallie Banks, Trine Baugh, Camryn Laureles, and Addison Massingill.
