Walter George “Tooter” Mazurek, age 79, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010, at Comanche County Medical Center, Comanche County, Texas. Walter was born on January 13, 1931, in Comanche County, to Thomas Charles Mazurek, Sr., and Margaret Josephine (Jureski) Mazurek. He graduated from Comanche High School and served in the United States Army, a veteran of the Korean War. On June 7, 1958 he was united in marriage to Doris Lanelle Milam in Early. For most of his life Walter was a farmer and rancher. He was also a talented carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Doris Mazurek of Comanche; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and George McMillan of Odessa; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and William Works of Comanche; grandchildren, Kelci Dowell of Stephenville, Trae Dowell of Stephenville, Kobi Works of Comanche, Jessica Partin of Comanche, Craig McMillan of Cedar Park, Casey McMillan of Cedar Park, and T. J. McMillan of Midland; great-grandchildren, Braxton Works of Comanche, Ellie McMillan of Cedar Park, and Emily McMillan of Cedar Park; sister, Elmyra McNutt of Irving; sister and brother-in-law, Marg and Bob McElroy of Comanche; sisters-in-law, Shirley Mazurek of Sidney and Maxene Mazurek of Comanche; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Sr. and Margaret Mazurek and two brothers, Tommy Mazurek and Bill Mazurek.
