Wanda Lavelle Towe

Wanda LaVelle Towe, age 85, passed away February 3, 2023, at her home. A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Harold Higginbotham officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday February 6th at the funeral home.

LaVelle was born May 22, 1937, in Gorman, Texas the daughter of Grady and LaVerne (Bingham) Barrick. She married Gene Towe December 24, 1964, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2005. After graduation, LaVelle attended watch repair school and she and her brother, Garry opened Barrick's Jewelry in the early 1960s. After closing the store in 1995, she continued to replace watch batteries from her home for many years. LaVelle raised poodles for over 20 years and loved tending to her yard and flowers. She also was an excellent seamstress.

LaVelle is survived by her son, Michael Towe; her aunt, Gracie Brown and daughters, Wanda, and Martha; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
