Wavel Jennings

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:30 P.M. Monday, December 7, 2015, at Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Sunday, December 6, from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Wavel A. Jennings, age 94, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015, in Comanche, Texas. She was born on June 12, 1921, in San Angelo, Texas, to Charlie Benjamin and Ollie (Stapp) Jones. On December 24, 1939, she was united in marriage to Z. T. Jennings in Junction, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2015. Wavel was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jennings of Weatherford; son, Tommy Jennings and wife Sherry of Comanche; two grandchildren: Kelly Jennings and LeAnn Robinett; five great-grandchildren: Shi Jennings, Anna Robinett, Ashlyn Robinett, Alyssa Robinett, and Jaden Robinett; sister, Belle Ferguson of Canyon Lake; three nieces, Dovie Burda of Brownfield and Elsie Butler of Fort Worth and Doris Darden of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and best friends, Betty and Bunny Jack Ratliff of Lampasas, and Jack and Jane Logan of Weatherford. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ollie Jones; twin brother, Walter “Buddy” Jones; and four sisters, Lois Barnes, Guida Ratliff, Delma Adams, and Dovie McKinzie.
