Wayne Ripley

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:30 P.M. Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. Wayne Henry Ripley, age 87, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Temple VA Hospital in Temple, Texas. He was born on November 23, 1922, in Comanche County, Texas to George Robert and Minnie Elizabeth (Williams) Ripley. On December 24, 1940, he was united in marriage to Ruby Jewell Ripley in Comanche County. She preceded him in death on November 14, 2007. Wayne was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army. In 1946 he began repairing Grocery Store and Café refrigerators and continued to work in commercial refrigeration until his retirement. He was a Baptist. He is survived by two sons, John Ripley of Houston and Dale Ripley of Waco; one daughter, Marsha G. Hillis of Dallas; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Genitha George of Comanche, Willie Jean McNutt of San Angelo, and Vick Smith of San Angelo. He was preceded in death by one brother, one half-brother, and six sisters.
