William “Bill” Adolph Kunkel, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on February 28, 1940, in Priddy, Texas, to Fritz and Nelda (Stegemoller) Kunkel, the seventh of fourteen children. Bill was a mechanic and was employed by Fred Hughes Buick in Abilene for many years. He was a Baptist. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Randy Grigsby of Mansfield; son, Brent Kunkel of Mansfield; grandsons, Chase Grigsby and Chandler Grigsby both of Mansfield; brother, Raymond Kunkel and wife Rosie, of Johnson City; Sister, Janice French and husband C.L. of Dumas; sister, Dorothy Atwood and husband Norris of Elgin, Oklahoma; sister, JoAnn Cooper of Denver City, Texas; Sister, Fay McKay and husband Jim of Allen; brother, Don Kunkel and wife, Susan of Saint Mary’s, Pennsylvania; brother, Wayne Kunkel of Ephrata, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Wilma Chambers, Lenora Kunkel and Nadine Schuman; and three brothers, J. C. Kunkel, John Kunkel and Leroy Kunkel.
