Pioneer Drive, Abilene, Texas 79605.   Winston Arthur Ross, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, in De Leon, Texas. He was born on September 13, 1921, in Comanche County, Texas, to George and Cora (Gilder) Ross.  On May 5, 1941, he was united in marriage to Willie Mae Jones in Dublin, Texas.  She preceded him in death on December 23, 1988.   He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy.  Winston was a hardworking man who was devoted to God, his family and his country.  He was an Engineer for MKT Railroad for most of his working life and, in his thirties, he became a Congregational Methodist Pastor and served in that capacity for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Dickey of Comanche; and son, Jerry Ross of Comanche. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Johnny “John” Cecil Dickey.
